Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of January 1, 2006.

Small Business Automobile Association of America takes your privacy seriously.  SBAAA understands that privacy concerns are extremely important to our customers. We would like to assure you that we are committed to protecting your personal privacy.  Please read the following to learn more about our privacy policy.

What This Privacy Policy Covers

This privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) covers how Small Business Automobile Association of America (SBAAA) treats personal information that SBAAA collects and receives through this website (this “Site”), including information related to your use of SBAAA products and services.  Personal information is information you provide about yourself that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, phone number, and social security number.  This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies or the content of websites of companies that SBAAA links to or does not own or control, or to people that SBAAA does not employ or manage.  In those cases, you will become subject to the security and privacy policies of those companies or individuals and the policies that are posted on the associated website(s).  If you wish to restrict their use or disclosure of your personal information, you will have to direct any opt-out or other non-disclosure request to those companies or individuals in accordance with their respective policies.

Information We Collect

In order to ensure that consumers get the very best service, SBAAA collects demographic information, web pages visited and other consumer-volunteered information from sources such as forms, e-mail communications, survey information and/or site registrations.  SBAAA’ s request forms may require users to give us information such as your name, address, phone number, social security number, e-mail address and certain financial and credit-related information.  In addition, users who desire to receive automotive finance quotes provide us with and authorize us to convey to our trusted fulfillment partners the right to obtain financial information about such users.

This information allows SBAAA to match you with a trusted fulfillment partner, such as an automobile dealer or bank, that we feel is best able to fill your request.  This information also helps SBAAA in the development or referral of valued products and services offered by SBAAA and other companies that we believe will meet the continuing needs of our customers.  Collected information is used to improve the content of this Site, customize the content and/or layout of this Site for individual users, and to contact users for marketing purposes as well as route requests to our trusted fulfillment partners.  Please note that SBAAA does not provide financing, credit, vehicles or related products or services.  SBAAA transmits any requests for financing, credit, vehicles or related products or services to trusted fulfillment partners for consideration.

SBAAA automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, SBAAA cookie information, and the page you request.  SBAAA uses information for the following general purposes: to customize content you see, fulfill your requests for products and services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients.

Children's Guidelines

Although this Site is intended for the use of adults, and is not of likely interest to children, the forms on this Site are capable of collecting online contact information from children who furnish it without prior parental consent or parental notification.  Upon discovery that any such information may be supplied by children, such information shall be disregarded and deleted.

Personalization

SBAAA offers its users the advantage of personalization on this Site by using cookies. Web site personalization provides our customers with a more convenient online experience and is at no time used to track information or retrieve data from your hard drive.

Cookies

Cookies are pieces of information that a web server may transfer to your computer through your web browser.  When this information is stored on your computer, our system is able to recognize your browser and, in turn, customize web page content for you.  We will not use any cookies to retrieve data from your hard drive or obtain sensitive information about you.  When a cookie is set, your browser will check it for length, an expiration date, and where it originated.  You can decide if and how your computer will accept a cookie by configuring your preferences or options in your browser. However, if you choose to reject cookies, you may not be able to use certain of our online services or website features.

Third Party Tracking

SBAAA may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads on our behalf. These companies may employ cookies and action tags (also known as single pixel gifs, tracking pixels or web beacons) to measure advertising effectiveness.  Any information that these third parties collect via cookies and action tags is anonymous.

Security

SBAAA understands the importance of security for our consumers.  When applicable, we use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption technology to protect sensitive personal or financial information during transmission.  This allows your personal information to be submitted in a secure environment to the intended parties.  An SSL-capable web browser is needed to support this encryption technology. Netscape Navigator 4.6 or higher or Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 4.01 or higher will support SSL technology.  To verify that you are on a secure web page in Netscape Navigator, right-click while your cursor is on the form (not the border) and select “view Frame information” in Netscape Navigator.  To view security certificates in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options on the View menu in the browser and then the Content tab.  In the Certificates area, click the Personal, Sites, and Publishers buttons to view the current certificates.
